Grow Together

CHILDREN IN OUR FAITH COMMUNITY

As a family-centered church, we have a wonderful support system for children and youth, including them as part of our faith community in both worship and fellowship. Every Sunday, we gather for worship as one body, welcoming children in our midst just as Jesus did.

Children are invited to sit in our unique "Prayground" in the worship space, where Christian education materials related to the morning message, soft toys, and simple crafts are provided. Children may also remain with their family members during worship, or family members may join their children in the "Prayground" area.

Families, children, teens, or even the eldest amongst us also have an option of worshipping in the nearby Conference Room, where you can see and hear worship, while also having your own "soundproof" place to gather. We also have a nearby Nursery that includes audio access to our worship services. After worship, we all join together for a casual lunch, fellowship, and conversation time.

SAFE CHURCH POLICY

POVUCC is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in which young people can learn about and experience God’s love, following the guidelines and goals of a Safe Church.

YOUNG ADULTS

We are excited to announce the formation of our young adult group. Still in its infancy, this dynamic group has met for pizza outings, miniature golf, and a bible study. If you are young or young at heart, you are welcome to join this group.

ADULT EDUCATION

As a faith community, we believe that people of faith should never stop learning about their faith, their role in the community, or what Christ asks of them – at this time, in this place, and within this world.

Our study groups offer regular learning opportunities on a wide variety of topics, including sermons, books of the Bible, Christian literature, secular literature, current events, and more.

Another way we help our members to grow is by hosting interesting speakers at the church. In the summer of 2018, we hosted clergy from Muslim, Buddhist, and Jewish faith traditions as part of our Summer Speaker Series.
