Pioneer Ocean View UCC is located in a quiet Clairemont neighborhood in central San Diego, with a beautiful hilltop setting overlooking Mission Bay and the mountains to the east. Our campus offers welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, memorial services, celebrations, meetings, retreats, performances, and community gatherings.

Whether you are planning a one-time event or looking for an ongoing meeting space, we would be glad to help you explore what may work best for your needs. Site visits are available by appointment.

THE POINT

The Point is POVUCC’s most distinctive space: a beautiful hilltop outdoor venue with sweeping views of Mission Bay and the surrounding area. This open-air setting is ideal for wedding ceremonies, receptions, memorial gatherings, celebrations, and other special events.

The Point works especially well for those looking for a flexible, bring-your-own-vendors style venue. Renters are welcome to shape the space to fit their event needs, including their own rentals, décor, catering, and setup plans, subject to church approval and facility guidelines. Tucked within the space is a peaceful Japanese Garden, offering a serene backdrop for photos, reflection, or quiet moments during your event.

FELLOWSHIP HALL

Fellowship Hall is a flexible indoor space for receptions, parties, luncheons, meetings, workshops, and community events. The hall offers air conditioning, an audio-visual system, access to a large kitchen for caterer staging, and beautiful views of Mission Bay and the mountains to the east.

A reception patio is also available, giving guests the option to enjoy both indoor and outdoor gathering space.

SANCTUARY

Our Sanctuary is a warm, light-filled space well suited for weddings, memorial services, and other meaningful gatherings. Built in a mid-century modern style, the space features brick accents, natural light, a garden atrium view, a raised platform, air conditioning, and an audio-visual system.

A wedding preparation room may also be available, making the Sanctuary a thoughtful option for ceremonies and special life events.

CONFERENCE ROOM

Our Conference Room is a comfortable and practical space for smaller meetings, classes, workshops, planning sessions, support groups, and nonprofit or community gatherings. With seating for up to 15 people, it offers a quieter setting for groups that need a simple, private meeting space.
